Our Story
Joey Childs founded Joeys Toy Drive in 2012 with a simple belief in the power of generosity and the idea that every child deserves to experience christmas joy, regardless of their families economic situation. Joey's Toy Drive is dedicated to bringing christmas cheer to underprivileged children in San Jose and northern California whose families might not be able to afford christmas gifts.
Driven by a passion for making a positive impact in the community, one toy at a time, Joey quickly discovered that his vision resonated with like-minded individuals, families, and local businesses. None of what we have accomplished since 2012 would have been possible without the generous support of our partner organizations.
The sight of children's faces lighting up as they receive a gift is a testament to the christmas magic that happens when peoples generosity meets people in need. At Joey's Toy Drive, we believe that the spirit of giving is a gift in itself. Our mission extends beyond presents; it's about creating memories, nurturing compassion, and inspiring the next generation to pay it forward and make the world a better place.
From our humble beginnings, with 45 toys donated, to our most recent drive in 2023, collecting and donating over 12,500 toys, our commitment remains unwavering: empowering our community to make a difference in the lives of those who need it most. With each toy collected and every smile shared, we're reminded that the true spirit of Christmas is found in the joy we bring to others.

Our Mission
Joey's Toy Drive is a Christian-based nonprofit dedicated to brightening Christmas for families in need across the Bay Area. Since 2012, we have been bringing joy to less fortunate children and their families through our annual toy drive, partnerships, and community outreach. Our mission is to empower local organizations, inspire youth to serve, and create a lasting impact on the communities we serve.

2023 Christmas Toy Drive
In 2023, with the support of 53 partner businesses and the generosity of thousands of individuals, we were able to collect a little over 12,500 toy donations. On December 20th, we hosted a toy distribution event, welcoming thousands of families to pick up toys for their children.
